An Important Vernacular Child’s Chair, early 19th century Scottish, evidence of later repairs circa 1900, using slot head screws and nail repairs. Hewn elm seat, exceptional colour and patination. Worn paint. Screw holes underside where it had been used as a trade sign. This is an exceptional example of Scottish folk art with a wonderful surface to the chair.
