An exceptional pair of crisply carved Louis XVI French fruitwood salon chairs of large proportions. Later cut velvet cloth with sprung seats, cabriolet legs, exquisitely decorative upholstery nails with a good depth of seating measuring 55cm x 62cm in width elbow to elbow. We believe the chairs were recovered around the 1900 and the cloth though beautifully aged is both decorative and in wonderful condition. In a style also called Louis Seize the chairs are of less symmetrical design, the arm rests don't reach the front of the edge, the chair backed slightly angled, with carved cabriolet legs and decorated rails.
