Mid 19th Century upholstered armchair of large proportions in Carolean style. American Walnut and American walnut veneer over beech wood frame, close nailed with ceramic wheel casters to the front and back. Believed to be an American chair. Some age related wear to the wood as one might expect, upholstery in fine order, webbing and stuffing tight and plump. Fine scroll arm terminations. Covered in Fadini Borghi fabric and sympathetically restored by Bishops Upholstery of Devizes. The show-wood has been polished. Provenance: Castle Ashby Estate, Northamptonshire
